Following collaboration with Tralee Chamber Alliance, it is proposed to run a mammoth 3-Day 300 mile Leisure Tour of Kerry next year. ’Turas na Ríochta’ or ‘The Kingdom Tour’ will be held over a bank holiday weekend next summer, and looks set to be a focal point for club activities in 2013. It also promises to be a real challenge for the leisure cyclist, with each stage approximately 100 miles long, and taking in North & East Kerry, Mid-Kerry and West Kerry respectively. A full low-down on the tour may be found in the ‘Proposal Document’ below.
The route for Slí Trá Lí 2012 was discussed and agreed at this months club meeting, and it looks like we are heading west to Brandon Point. A 60 mile ‘there and back again’ type route promises great scenery and a testing ‘rolling’ road, well known to the clubs Christmas T.T. brigade. Details will be posted in the coming weeks, but we can confirm that the Moriarty’s will be giving us all ‘a big fry up’ when we call in on the way back west.
