Tralee C.C. organises a number of events throughout the year.
TRAINING
Cycling is all about commitment, and if you don’t put in the miles then you won’t be climbing too many podiums. Times and routes vary throughout the year so keep in touch to make sure your up to speed. Current times are 10:00am, from The Brandon Hotel, Tralee, for the traditional Ballycarthy circuit spin. At this time of year the racers will be doing individual training, but this will be more collective as the year progresses. For a good training schedule, check out our esteemed Directeurs 8-Week Training Plan uploaded to his page. See ‘The Directeurs Chair’ above.
CHRISTMAS T.T.
Traditionally our season finishes (or starts, depending on what training you have done) with the Christmas Day Time Trial. This event, which is never a pleasurable experience, starts at Camp and finishes at Poff’s Garage on the Dingle road, outside Tralee. Never for the faint hearted, this ordeal tests everyone, no matter how strong you feel. Pete Landy presents the Landy Cup to the winner every year ( that is, unless he wins it himself ! ). For more detail on the route use the following link: www.bikemap.net/route/1251844
Current Club Chairman Jerry O’Connor tops the Roll of Honour so far with 7 wins (3 individual titles and 4 with a partner), followed by J.P. O’Connell with 5 wins, and Mike Leahy and Pete Landy with 4 wins each. Jerry and J.P. are obviously the most successful partnership with 3 wins together, while Pete Landy and Tony Sayers left 18 years go before they followed up their initial success together with a second crown.
A full record of all competitors and times for the last thirty one years will be posted shortly. See our Time Trial Page…

Traditionally a fixture for St. Patricks Day, this event has not been held since 1996, but is scheduled to make a comeback in 2012. A Time Trial Competition held on Castlemaine hill, starting on the Tralee side and finishing at the summit.
