2013

Tom Moriarty kept up his knack of making winning debuts when he ensured that The Billy Nolan Cup will spend another year in the Moriarty house, following on from brother Mikey’s win last year.  Tom put in a strong  ride up Sliabh Mish, and with the aid of the handicap system managed to beat the impressive Canice Walsh who recorded the days fastest actual time. The results from the 2013 Billy Nolan Cup were as follows:

  1. Tom Moriarty – 10:56 (16:56 – 6 mins)
  2. Canice Walsh (The Chain Gang C.C.) - 11:24
  3. Mikey Moriarty – 12:34
  4. Mike Leahy (Tralee B.C.) - 12:47
  5. Tom Shanahan (Tralee B.C.) – 13:12
  6. Thomas Crean – 13:15 (15:15 – 2 mins)
  7. John Kelly – 13:22
  8. Robert McCarthy – 13:30
  9. Neil Dodd – 15:40 (17:40 – 2 mins)
  10. Stuart Dodd - 18:12 (20:12 – 2 mins)

Handicap times are shown in brackets.

Well done to Mikey, to all who took part, and to all who helped on the day.  It was especially good to see the undisputed King of the Billy Nolan Cup make a guest appearance; Diarmuid Brosnan, of Castleisland CC, who won this prize on no less than 7 occasions.
