Reports are being leaked that The Badger was in fine form in Galway at the weekend, but not in the mood for a leisurely spin. According to Tom Kenny of Currow CC, the pace was á la ‘Le Grand Bouchle’. Apparently Aidan was the only TCC rider able to stay on the Bretons wheel…..but these rumours remain to be confirmed.

Hinault, known as ‘Le Blaireau’ (the Badger) is a five time winner of the Tour de France and acknowledged as among the greatest cyclists of all time. He is one of only five cyclists to have won all three Grand Tours (Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta á Espána) and the only cyclist to have won each more than once. He won the Tour de France in ’78, ’79, ’81, ’82 and ’85. He came second in ’84 and ‘86 and won 28 stages, of which 13 were individual time trials. His Palmáres also includes the following:
