Just to bring everyone up to date….we have a few new members, namely Thomas Crean (Camp), Michael and Stephen Costello (Tralee), Paul McMahon (Tralee), Robert McCarthy (Milltown) and Stephen O’Shea (Castlemaine). Welcome aboard boys!!!
Thanks to all who supported us in our table quiz last week. We had a good turn out and a few bob was made. We hope everyone enjoyed the evening, and maybe we will organise something similiar in the near future.
News from the Leipzig Velodrome was that competition was stiff when J.P. O’Connell took to the boards last week. The speed was ‘crazy’, and J.P. finished in the second group, one lap down on the winner. Apparently there were three ‘frauleins’ that would win any of our league races in the event. J.P. reports that there was a serious level of fitness in evidence and that the temperature in the arena was 35c, and that the ‘air burns the lungs’! This does not bode well for the rest of us, when J.P. returns to local action in the next week or so….unless he brings a few frauleins with him….
Well done to Aidan, Sean, John and Seamus who represented the club with pride at the Dingle Tour last Saturday. Rumour has it that (1) Seamus actually spent some time at the front of the bunch…..whats all that about?……. (2) John was seen fraternising with the Bicycle Club lads…….(D.S. Kas wants to see you in his office John)……….and (3) Sean was doing his duty by advertising Slí na Ríochta. Well done Sean!!! A full report on what Aidan got up to is being compiled, but from what we hear the food on offer was top notch….so we can only imagine what he was like climbing Conor Pass….
Well done to Tom, Sean, John and Dick who took part in Round 1 of the County Time Trial League on Thursday. Results were as follows:
